Francine is a bit more girly in the Arthur Adventure books than she is in the TV series.
Her personality became a bit more tomboyish in the next book "Arthur and the True Francine", where she is shown playing sports for the first time. Francine is more tomboyish in every Arthur Adventure book as of "Arthur's Valentine" where she is first seen wearing more masculine clothes. However, she does still like doing some girly things, as her best friend is Muffy, who is quite girly. However, she is seen wearing dresses after this episode and she doesn't seem to mind wearing them.įrancine can be seen as a tomboy, as she is into lots of sports. Despite that she does not want to have her hair done, her hair length remains the same. She prefers to wear clothes that are normally worn by boys, thus making her a tomboy. Francine also likes sports including soccer, football, kickball, bowling, and baseball.įrancine has mixed thoughts on wearing dresses or having her hair done, she sometimes believes it makes her look foolish and less like herself as she explains in "Francine's Bad Hair Day". She is also an excellent singer and drummer. Her most common outfit consists of a red shirt, blue jeans, red and white sneakers, white socks, and she doesn't wear an undershirt like some of her friends.įrancine is a loyal, kind, athletic girl, but she be a bit of bossy girl at times. Francine is an anthropomorphic monkey with a brown complexion and short brown hair in a bobcut that is held up with barrettes, which have red clips in the books but yellow ones in the cartoon show.
